Warm Custom Drywall TV Wall with LED Lighting in Orlando, FL

A client-approved asymmetrical layout, orange-peel texture and integrated warm lighting turned a plain living-room wall into a feature that feels original to the home.

The Design Goal

Warm, Modern and Made to Belong in the Room

The homeowner wanted more than a decorative panel behind the television. She wanted a feature with warm light, clean proportions and a finish that looked like it had always been part of the house.

Instead of centering identical elements on both sides, we developed an asymmetrical composition: a tall illuminated niche balances the TV area while a low floating feature extends across the wall and adds light near the floor.

Starting Point & Approval

We Planned the Layout on the Wall Before Building

Before: The TV and soundbar were mounted on a wide wall with no architectural feature or integrated lighting.

Layout approval: Full-size outlines were marked directly on the wall so the homeowner could review the scale and placement before construction began.

Drywall Construction Shaped Around the Approved Design

Confirming the proportions

The preliminary layout allowed the homeowner to approve the tall niche and lower horizontal element at true scale.

Building the forms

Framing and drywall created the recessed vertical niche and the floating feature below the TV while preserving access for the electrical and lighting connections.

Matching the existing home

Orange-peel texture was applied to coordinate with the surrounding walls, helping the finished feature blend naturally into the room.

What Makes This Project Different

Architectural Lighting Without a Fireplace

Asymmetrical Balance

The tall illuminated niche creates visual height while the long lower feature anchors the TV area.

Warm COB LEDs

Continuous COB strips produce a smooth line of warm light without the dotted appearance of traditional LED tape.

Orange-Peel Texture

The textured drywall finish matches the home and keeps the new construction from looking added on.

Floating Lower Feature

Lighting beneath the horizontal form washes the floor softly and adds depth without bulky cabinetry.

Integrated TV & Soundbar

The existing entertainment equipment remains the center of the room with a cleaner architectural backdrop.

Homeowner Approval First

Reviewing the full-size layout before framing reduced guesswork and kept the final design aligned with the client’s vision.

Finished Result

A Warm Entertainment Feature That Feels Built with the Home

The final wall gives the living room a clear focal point without relying on stone, wood panels or a fireplace. Its character comes from proportion, matching texture and carefully placed warm light.
